How long does it take to complete the course?
Our program can be completed in 4 or 5 months if you work on it 8 hours a day 6 days a week. Most students complete the program within 9 months to a year. However, we allow a full 18 months to complete it. You may also apply for an extension if you need additional time.

What kind of computer do I need for the program?
For the program you will need an Internet ready computer that has a USB port.
Minimum computer requirements are as follows: A 486 PC, Windows 95, 64 MB RAM, 33.6 KBPS modem, monitor, video card, sound card and speakers, Real Audio browser plug-in, available USB port.
Recommended system requirements are as follows: Pentium-class PC, Windows 98 or higher, 128 MB RAM, 56 KBPS modem, monitor and video card capable of SVGA (800 x600) resolution and thousands of colors, Real Audio browser plug-in, and USB port, printer, and latest version of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer, or AOL.

Will I have one instructor I can contact?
Most MT programs assign you one instructor throughout the course. MTACC has different instructors for different modules. We feel this gives the students the advantage of gaining experience and expertise from all our instructors at MTACC.

What type of transcription practice will I get with MTACC?
At MTACC you’ll get more transcription practice than with any other program. You will have the option to transcribe hundreds of specialized reports, many of which will be graded through our on-line grader with automatic feedback. You will also have one on one feedback from our instructors! You’ll be transcribing both beginning and advanced SUM tapes. Many courses stop right here. At MTACC, we also include other intermediate and advanced tapes so you can be a top quality transcriptionist upon graduation.
